THE HISTORY
After working in Europe for many years where Tara was trained she came back to Canada with the goal of opening a makeup academy in Calgary. While doing her research Tara found there to be a lack in the standard of training offered at other schools, with many out of date programs and techniques being taught. Being an artist with years of experience behind her, Tara wasn’t interested in churning students through a mediocre school, she wanted to inspire each student coming through the program, giving them the best chance to excel in this exciting and competitive field. Tara is dedicated to making a change and a difference to the industry.
THE BEGINNING
#1 - A well-rounded and highly relevant curriculum was designed, knowing what today’s industry requires in a makeup artist. The program at Artists Within is like none other, it is taken directly from Tara’s world travels as a makeup artist giving the students a taste of what life is really like in this industry and also what skills and knowledge are important. It is designed for your success as a graduation student in the work force with our underlying goal being to provide you with the training and confidence to excel in your chosen field.
#2 – A team of talented and experienced artists, who also work in the field, has been put together to create high standards of professional instruction. It is important that an artist teaching you has not only been trained but has vast experience in the industry and understands what is demanded of an artists from a hands on approach. Tara has personally trained each instructor to follow the program as she designed it, giving you her experience whether is Tara training you or any of our highly skilled instructors.
