Thursday Tips

Creating the Perfect Brow

We have created this fabulous step by step instruction and package for you,
containing all you need for the perfect brows.
Brows are the most important part of your face, highlighting and framing everything!

In this package you will find:

Angled Brow Brush, Highlighter Brow Duo Pencil
Brow Balm (shown in Brunette) & Clear Brow Gel

Here's how:

Step one - Follow the diagram below and map out where your brow should start, arch and end. Use the brow brush and measure from the side of the nose straight up to find the starting point, then from the outer side of the iris straight up to find the highest point of the arch and finally from the corner of the nose again out toward the outer edge of the eye to find where the brow should end.

Step two - Using the brow brush apply a small amount of brow balm to the upper brow line feathering the desired outline shape. Keep in mind the shape you have just mapped out. Once you have your outline shape use feathery strokes again to fill in any areas that are sparse or need shaping. Repeat this process along the underside of the brow if you like more definition.

*Tip - don't draw a shape at the front of the brow, let brow hair look natural here.*

Step three - Once you are happy with your shape use the brow gel to set brushing upward and out.

Step four - Use the matte end of the highlighter brow duo to define the underside of the front of the brow and the sheeny side to define under the brow arch.

Step five - Admire how beautifully defined your eyes are looking with the perfect brows you just created!

2018 Met Gala

The 70th anniversary of the Met Gala was held last night in beautiful New York. The Costume Institute Gala at New Yorks Metropolitan Museum of Art is the biggest event on the Fashion fundraiser calendar. Founded by publicist Eleanor Lambert, the benefit was first held in 1948 to encourage donations from New Yorks high society. Now a days, the most famous faces from fashion, film, music and art come together each first Monday in May to raise money for the Met's Costume Institute and celebrate the opening of it's latest exhibition. This year's theme is the Mets most controversial one yet, the theme is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

Anna Wintour announced named her co-hosts fort he evening, who are none other then Amal Clooney, Rihanna and Donatella Versace.

Unfortunately as every year there were only a select few that followed the theme. This is the Fashion event of the year and when you have Fashion and Art mixed together the guests should take risks, rather then stay safe. A few styles made my jaw drop, but mostly styles were safe and boring. The carpet was filled with gowns that were gold, silver and white. I think the biggest question of the night however was, where is Lady Gaga and the Beyonce?!?! The Gala was most definitely missing these two its was not the same with our them!

Keep in mind the theme of the Gala is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. So lets see who actually took a risk and kept to the theme and who went to safe shall we...

R.I.P Count Hubert de Givenchy

It is with a broken heart that we say goodbye to a beloved French fashion designer. Count Huber de Givenchy who founded the house of Givenchy passed away Saturday, leaving behind a fashion legacy. Givenchy who was famous for designing the personal and professional wardrobe of non other then his close friend and muse Audrey Hepburn. He also designed clothing for the First Lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, or as she is also know as Jackie O.
Givenchy started his fashion career in 1945, his first designs were done for Jacques Fath. In 1946 he went on to do designs for Robert Piguet and Lucien Lelong, while working along side the still-unknown Pierre Balmain and Christian Dior.
At 25 Givenchy was the youngest designer of the progressive Paris Fashion scene. In 1953 he met his muse and life long friend Audrey Hepburn during the shooting of the film Sabrina. He went on and designed her iconic Black dress she wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Audrey became the face of Givenchy fashion and Givenchy fragrance.
Count Hubert de Givenchy passed away Saturday March 10 in his sleep at the Renaissance Chateau near Paris at the age of 91 years old.

60th Annual Grammy Awards

Last night at Madison Square Gardens, the 60th annual Grammy Awards were held. I don't know about you, but to me this years awards were on the boring side. For the 60th I was hoping for a definite show stopper award show, but that was not the case for this years Grammy's. Music's biggest night went on for what felt like forever just kind of dragged on! However there were some amazing moments in the show that has everyone talking this morning!
Kendrick Lamar opened the show with a few quick cameo's from Dave Chappelle. To tell you the honest truth I did not understand a word Kendrick was saying. At the beginning it looked as if he was looking at a teleprompter for the lyrics to his song? Thankfully the opening was saved by Lady Gaga with her emotional tribute to her late aunt Joanne while singing Joanne and A Million Reasons. Kesha & friends gave the performance of a lifetime with her song Pray. Kesha's raw emotion gave me goosebumps as she used her vocal power to push through tears. Cyndi Lauper, Camila Cabello, Andra Day, Julia Michaels, Bebe Rexha and the Resistance Revival Chorus joined Kesha on stage. Of course can't forget to mention Sir Elton John and Miley Cyrus's performance "Tiny Dancer". This coming just days after Sir Elton John announced his retirement going into his final tour. Miley looked like a princess in her burgundy gown just flawless! A beautiful group of country superstars provided one of the most emotional performances of the night. Maren Morris, Eric Church and the Brothers Osborne delivered a tearful rendition of Eric Claptons "Tears in Heaven" as tribute to the 59 victims of the Las Vegas shooting. Jay-Z entered the show as top nominee, but it was Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar who left the nights biggest winners! Bruno Mars won for Song of the Year, Best R&B Album, Record of the Year and and Album of the Year!

This award show was hard to choose best and worst dressed. The fashion was mediocre I was just not wowed. There are a few outfits that I was loving though. Like Lady Gaga, how she wore a wrap skirt on the Red Carpet and took the skirt off and she then had a lace bodysuit on for the remainder of the show. Another look that I loved was Heidi Klum's straight off the runway Ashi Studio gown.

Top 6 Best Dressed:

1. Lady Gaga - Armani
2. Heidi Klum - Ashi Studio
3. Camila Cabello - Vivienne Westwood
4. Ashanti - Yas Couture by Elie Madi
5. Kimberly Schlapman - Raisa & Vanessa
6. Rita Ora - Ralph & Russo Couture

Top 6 Worst Dressed:

1. Cardi B - Ashi Studio & Messika Paris
2. Pink - Armani Privé
3. Andra Day - Victoria Hayes
4. Patrick Starr
5. Sarah Silverman - Maggie Marilyn
6. Ava Max
